You can dress her up, but underneath it all, she's still just Windows.
Like all Good Things (including the Web itself... Berners-Lee designed HTML and the WWW on a NeXT computer (Steve Jobs), using the OS that became Mac OS X, and he still uses a Mac), the Albook set was originally designed on a Mac, for the Mac. That's where it really shines, my friend.
Anyway, thanks for extending the Albook set. I just wish you had extended it in a Mac direction... for example, by completing Baumann's icons for Apple's iWork and iLife suites.
Hi Sorry for the late answer but I actually have a lot of work to do for my job, and I wanted to take some time for answering! Yeah, this is desperately windows, and I'm not a fanboy of Micro$oft. If I had the possibility to use an apple OS on my hardware, I would probably be using the same as you're using. But it's not the case, and I'm fond of hardware and overclocking. So, when you play games a bit, the best way to have something which can touch to everything, even it's heavily using resources and sometimes providing bsod, it's to use windows. The story of the visual style is simple: Two years ago, the only thing I was 100% satisfied on my desktop was Laurent Baumann's Albook icons. But it was only based on Mac OS X applications. So, I started to make new ones for my personnal needs. Then their number became bigger and bigger. I sent him some messages here and on his mailbox for asking him if I had the possibility to extend his set, but everything remained dead letters. Some friends asked for an Albook extended icon set release, so did I. Then came updates, corresponding to what people asked for (and recently, some new Mac application demands). Then the machine was launched, and I started to make skins and a visual style based on those icons. Now all my desk works around that. It's not Mac OS X's main style, but it's just what I was wanting to have for using my computer two years ago... iWork and iLife suites... that's a very good idea for a future update of the set! Cheers P.S. Sorry for my poor English!
I've finally booted out my part-time lover, Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope to her friends, yes, she is female) from my second partition, and taken up a new lover, Windows 7 RTM. "Ballmer", as she's known around town, looks damn sweet but evil tongues are telling me her femininity can be drawn into question...
Your excellent OD skin might be just the thing to put on her to make her sexy enough to kiss...
Hahaha, the google icon! You're damn right, it's a fucking thing that I never found how to change! I would have been more sneaky if I had put a wikipedia icon instead Sorry for the transparency, it was already there since some updates but with greyscaled wallpaper of the preview, nobody were able to see it on a picture. Guy, your Green Spirit VS is great, and well concepted, everything is looking good together, that's something I appreciate a lot.

Encore merci
Hi No, sorry, it's just a "ready to use" classic windows vista visual style (concepting VS with windowblinds is radically different and I'm not fond of this application 'cause I encountered many problems with it in the past). It doesn't work with windows 7 too, but when I'll get this OS, I'll work on a new VS adapted to it (I'll try to make something really complet, but at the beginning it'll be hard, with different techniques for customizing).
Hi lol yeah, it's in the same style as the first visual style, but there are too many changes to still call it V1.x What's up? I've started the description file, here's a part of it: "- Many changes in the visual style (Comfortaa Albook Mod font inspired by Aajohan ([link])'s Comfortaa font([link])), smoothed caption buttons, new start button, new taskband buttons, clearer popups, improved rightclick menu, and many other slight changes). - New animated shellstyle (version: 6.0.6000.16386, following RajTheeban95 ([link]) 's tutorial ([link]) - New Windows Photo Gallery skin with PhotoLibraryResources.dll version (6.0.6000.16386 & PhotoViewer.dll version 6.0.6002.18005) - New windows clock (timedate.cpl) - Cursror pack, Kaspersky 2009 and Opera (for Opera 9 or 10) skins added - Improved WMP skin (version: 11.0.6002.18065) - Related deviation links added - New easier way to install visual styles (V2.0 & V1.6) with folders containing shellstyle.dll & [link]. Now all you have to do is to follow the link to Sweatyfish ([link]) 's tutorial here [link] - some other stuffs, but I can't remember everything!"
Hi mate Coming from a fine customizer like you, it's particularly flattering! I'll try to upload it during the next week. I still have to release it before on some friend's forums, and to fix some minor stuffs. You know, making the blablah "read me" or "how to install" is long and boring!
