You can dress her up, but underneath it all, she's still just Windows.
Like all Good Things (including the Web itself... Berners-Lee designed HTML and the WWW on a NeXT computer (Steve Jobs), using the OS that became Mac OS X, and he still uses a Mac), the Albook set was originally designed on a Mac, for the Mac. That's where it really shines, my friend.
Anyway, thanks for extending the Albook set. I just wish you had extended it in a Mac direction... for example, by completing Baumann's icons for Apple's iWork and iLife suites.
Hi Sorry for the late answer but I actually have a lot of work to do for my job, and I wanted to take some time for answering! Yeah, this is desperately windows, and I'm not a fanboy of Micro$oft. If I had the possibility to use an apple OS on my hardware, I would probably be using the same as you're using. But it's not the case, and I'm fond of hardware and overclocking. So, when you play games a bit, the best way to have something which can touch to everything, even it's heavily using resources and sometimes providing bsod, it's to use windows. The story of the visual style is simple: Two years ago, the only thing I was 100% satisfied on my desktop was Laurent Baumann's Albook icons. But it was only based on Mac OS X applications. So, I started to make new ones for my personnal needs. Then their number became bigger and bigger. I sent him some messages here and on his mailbox for asking him if I had the possibility to extend his set, but everything remained dead letters. Some friends asked for an Albook extended icon set release, so did I. Then came updates, corresponding to what people asked for (and recently, some new Mac application demands). Then the machine was launched, and I started to make skins and a visual style based on those icons. Now all my desk works around that. It's not Mac OS X's main style, but it's just what I was wanting to have for using my computer two years ago... iWork and iLife suites... that's a very good idea for a future update of the set! Cheers P.S. Sorry for my poor English!
